Over the past few years, our community shop at Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre has become a really important part of what we do.
It was set up almost four years ago, with support from the National Lottery and the Steven Morgan Foundation, with one simple aim… to help local people through difficult times.
Since then, it’s grown into something the community relies on.
We now keep the shop running through our own reserves, along with the kindness and generosity of local people and businesses who donate items to help others. It’s a real community effort and something we’re incredibly proud of.
The shop works on a simple point system. For £3.50, you receive 10 points, which can be used to choose items in the shop, often adding up to around £15–£20 worth of goods compared to local shop prices. It’s a way of helping stretch budgets a little further, while still letting people choose what they need.
We’re open every Monday and Thursday, 10am–12pm, and local residents are always welcome to come along and sign up.
We know that times are tough for many people at the moment and having somewhere like this can make a real difference!
We’re also always grateful for donations. Whether it’s from local families having a clear-out or businesses who are able to support, every item helps us continue to provide for those who need it most.
