The school holidays are a time for children and young people to relax, have fun and make memories, and our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions are all about creating positive experiences for children in our community.
At Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre, our summer playscheme gives children the chance to get involved in a wide range of activities designed to support their social, physical, creative and emotional development.
From sports and outdoor adventures to arts and crafts, cooking and team games there’s always something exciting happening. Our sessions are led by experienced staff and volunteers who help create a safe, welcoming environment where children can feel confident, try new things and make new friends.
With our fantastic outdoor space, including our forest garden, fruit maze, football pitch, play area and growing beds, children have plenty of opportunities to enjoy being outside, get active and explore.
Activities can include football, rounders, tennis, cricket, obstacle courses, adventure play, den building, dance, cooking, decorating, creative activities and much more. We also include wellbeing-focused sessions, helping children learn about confidence, self-care and making positive choices.
One of the highlights of our HAF programme is our trips and residential opportunities, giving children the chance to experience new places, enjoy adventures and build friendships outside of their usual surroundings.
Our residential trip to Skipton gives children the opportunity to enjoy activities such as swimming, outdoor play, visiting animals and exploring new places together, helping build confidence, independence and positive relationships.
Alongside all the fun and activities, children are also provided with nutritious meals and food sessions, using fresh ingredients and taking into account different dietary needs.
Our HAF sessions are about so much more than keeping children busy during the holidays. They’re about giving children the chance to learn, grow, have fun and feel part of their community.
How to book onto our HAF sessions
Getting started is simple! Before booking onto any HAF activities, you’ll need to create an account and set up a profile for each child who will be attending.
Creating a profile means your child’s details are saved, so you won’t need to enter the same information every time you sign up for an event, making future bookings quicker and easier.
