Giving other people your time is a very important thing to do. At Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre, our community has always been built on people being kind to each other, helping each other out, giving their skills, and just being there for each other. This kind of spirit is what keeps our centre going strong and makes Netherton Park a wonderful place for everyone.
For people who want to help us in the future, we just added a brand-new page to our website where you can post your CV. It can be found at nethertonpark.org.uk/jobs-and-careers. Telling us you want to be a part of what we do is now simple, so when opportunities open up, we already know you’re excited to join in.
Although we’re not actively looking for helpers right now, we love hearing from people who want to help. Any help, no matter how small, can make a big difference. We can’t do what we do without the help of volunteers. They help out at events, support our community groups, and work on local projects like our new community garden.
Volunteering isn’t just about giving your time, though. It’s also about getting something out of it. Many of our helpers, both past and present, tell us they’ve made great friends, boosted their confidence, and learnt new skills they didn’t know they had. This is a great way to connect with your community, feel like you’re doing something good, and understand that what you’re doing is important.
Being a part of the Netherton Park community means being a part of a group that really cares about people, the community, and making the park a safe, welcoming place for everyone.
