Looking Back on a Brilliant Trip to Skipton

It’s safe to say we’ve come back from Skipton with some very happy memories.

Our recent residential trip gave our young people the chance to get away from their usual routine, spend time outdoors and enjoy a few days together. It was lovely to see everyone making the most of the experience and getting involved in everything the trip had to offer.

Some of the best moments were the simplest ones. Walking through the countryside, feeding the animals, splashing around in the pool and chatting together in between activities. It gave everyone the chance to slow down, have fun and enjoy each other’s company.

One of the nicest things about the trip was seeing everyone spending time together. Friendships grew, new conversations started and there were so many moments where the young people were encouraging each other to try something new. Watching their confidence grow over the course of the trip made all the planning worthwhile.

These residential’s are about so much more than just getting away for a few days. They give young people the chance to learn new skills, become more independent and create memories they’ll look back on for years to come. They also give us the opportunity to spend quality time together, strengthen relationships and enjoy experiences outside of our usual sessions at Netherton Park Neighbourhood Centre.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the trip and to the staff and volunteers who gave their time to make it happen. Most of all, thank you to all of our amazing young people for bringing so much energy, laughter and kindness throughout the few days we were away.

We’re already smiling as we look back through the photos, and there’s no doubt this is a trip we’ll all remember for a long time.

We can’t wait to see what our next adventure brings.
